There is so much about the story of Christ walking on the water that is profound. What a miracle. I am in awe that Peter had the faith to let go in the first place. As a fisherman I believe he knew exactly how dangerous and treacherous the waves were that day. So what made him want to step out of the boat. As master of the elements and the great creator, was the water still around the Savior? This the water still beneath his feet? Was there a sense of peace and safety surrounding him that Peter desired? I believe the boat represented safely and all he was familiar with. It represented worldly security so the fact that he had the faith tho step out of the boat and let go is incredible. He let go of all he knew in order to learn and experience something greater. We can learn so much from his example.
