Spirit Dancer

Anyone who believes in a higher power will have moments in life when they seek a deeper connection to that power. Perhaps it is because they need a greater understanding of who they are, why they are here, and where they are going or perhaps they’re just going through a really rough patch of life.

Personally, I have had many of these experiences. Times when I don’t feel that my prayers are reaching past the ceiling. And it becomes apparent that I need to become more intentional, to express my heart with more sincerity and do something more. I need to exercise my Faith through action. Now I could give several examples of how I might do this or how I have done this, but I think this looks different for different people, and different cultures.

When I watch the Native American’s dance out their prayers or their stories, they are not doing it half heartedly. They are pouring their whole soul into that action. They dress in their special Regalia to show God of their sincerity and to bring more power into their prayer. Their dance is a physical way to express the desires of their heart. By pouring out their strength, energy and heart, hoping it will help that prayer reach further.

Spirit Dancer exhibits one such prayer. Perhaps he can serve as a reminder that often times our prayers require a little more of us than we are giving them. Sometimes they require action.
